ServiceM8 can't put several jobs on one invoice. ServiceM8 says each Job card gets one invoice, and two Job cards can't be merged.
- Live Statements is the closest documented option. A repeat client gets one link listing all unpaid and recently paid invoices, with one balance.
- Turn on Live Statements under Settings > Automation, then tick Send Live Statements in Billing Details on the Client card.
- To avoid separate invoice emails, set each job to Completed and Approve the invoice without emailing it. The client only gets the statement link.
- Client Sites puts many locations under one head office client, so each invoice is addressed to the head office. Each job still gets its own invoice.
- Each approved job goes to Xero or QuickBooks Online as its own invoice. ServiceM8 documents no way to combine invoices there.

Quick answer: ServiceM8 can’t put several jobs on one invoice. ServiceM8 says each Job card gets one invoice, and two Job cards can’t be merged. The closest documented fix is Live Statements, which sends a repeat client one link listing every unpaid invoice. For a client with many locations, add Client Sites so every invoice goes to the head office.
Can ServiceM8 put multiple jobs on one invoice?
No. ServiceM8’s own answer is that the software works on a “one job per Job card / one invoice per Job card” basis. That holds even when every job is for the same client.
So 20 drain cleaning calls for one property manager means 20 Job cards and 20 invoices. That is still true in October 2026. ServiceM8 15 did not add a combined invoice.
Can I merge two ServiceM8 jobs into one?
No. ServiceM8 states there is no supported way to merge two existing Job cards. Each job keeps its own history and Job Diary. A duplicate made by mistake can be removed from Account > History in the Online Dashboard.
What is the closest thing to one invoice per client in ServiceM8?
| What you want | Documented option | What the client gets |
|---|---|---|
| One monthly bill for a repeat client | Live Statements | One link with all unpaid and recently paid invoices |
| One payer for many locations | Client Sites | Each invoice addressed to the head office |
| Send a batch of invoices in one go | Invoicing > Awaiting Payment | Separate invoices, sent with one click |
None of these makes a single invoice number. A Live Statement is a page of invoices with one balance.
How do I set up Live Statements for a repeat client?
- Activate the Automation add-on in Settings > ServiceM8 Add-ons.
- Go to Settings > Automation and turn on Live Statements.
- Pick the frequency: every week, every two weeks, or the 1st of the month.
- Open the Client card, go to Billing Details, and tick Send Live Statements.
To stop the client getting 20 separate emails, don’t email each invoice. Finish the billing on the job, set the status to Completed, then Approve the invoice. ServiceM8 says approved invoices show on the statement, and the client only gets the statement link.
How do I bill a head office for jobs at many locations?
Use Client Sites. Each location becomes a site under one head office client. Sites have no billing contact of their own, invoice templates use the head office details, and invoices reach your accounting package under the head office name.
You still get one invoice per job. Pair Client Sites with Live Statements for the monthly roll-up.
Can I combine the invoices in Xero or QuickBooks instead?
ServiceM8’s help pages do not describe a way to do that. Each approved job goes to Xero or QuickBooks Online as its own invoice. An invoice you build inside Xero or QuickBooks Online is never sent back to ServiceM8, so the jobs would still show as unpaid there.
ServiceM8 does document Approve Job(s) without sending to Xero under Invoicing > Awaiting Approval. That keeps a job out of your accounting package, and ServiceM8 says the job is then marked as paid. Talk to your bookkeeper before you go that route. The fix for sync trouble is in our post on QuickBooks payments showing unpaid.
