You turn it on under Settings > ServiceM8 Add-ons > Branded SMS and submit authorization documents. ServiceM8 says no fees apply until the application is approved.
Can I buy Branded SMS as a paid add-on without upgrading?
Not on a current capped plan. The only paid route ServiceM8 documents is for accounts on the old per-job pricing plan. Those accounts apply through support@servicem8.com and pay a setup fee plus a per-message rate. That route still only works in countries where Branded SMS is available.
What does text messaging cost on each US ServiceM8 plan?

What can a US contractor do instead of Branded SMS?
Use what is documented and included.
- Two-Way SMS is on all plans. Each text carries a “Reply here” link to a portal with your logo, your business name and your business number at the top.
- Check your company details. Go to Account > Settings > Preferences > Company Information > Company Details. The portal pulls from there.
- Name yourself in the template. This one is our suggestion, not a ServiceM8 feature. Example: “Hi [client name], this is [your business name] about your water heater install.”
What changed in the December 2025 SMS Improvements update?
Two things. The Two-Way SMS portal now shows your business name and business number under your logo. That part applies in every country. Australian accounts also got an automatic header and footer on some texts. The header and footer do not apply to US accounts.
