- The limit resets at midnight in your account's time zone. New runs pause at the limit, and there are no overage charges.

- To turn it on, activate ServiceM8 Launch 2026 and Office Agent, then give each person the Office Agent permission in their Security Role.
- Scheduled tasks need Pro and the Business Owner role, start switched off, and must run at least two hours apart.
- Start with one report-only task that checks Action Required each weekday morning, with messaging, booking, queue and status tools off.

What is ServiceM8 Office Agent?
Office Agent is an AI assistant inside ServiceM8. You ask it a question or give it a job in plain English. It reads your ServiceM8 data, then answers or prepares the work for you to check. It launched with ServiceM8 15 on September 18, 2026.
What can Office Agent do?
ServiceM8 lists these:
- Find and sum up jobs and clients, including the Job Diary history.
- Flag work that needs attention, like open quotes and overdue invoices.
- Read the ServiceM8 Inbox and point out messages that need a reply.
- Draft emails and texts, such as quote follow-ups and payment reminders.
- Check staff availability, queues and allocation windows.
- Prepare bookings, job status changes, queue moves and diary notes.
- Draft quotes and invoices with line items.
- Check which forms are done on a job.
- Answer questions from your Knowledge articles and ServiceM8’s help pages.
- Build reports, if you have the Advanced Reporting Pack.
- Run a task on a schedule, if you have Pro.
What can’t Office Agent do?
- Act without you. It prepares an action. You click Approve or Decline. Each action is reviewed one at a time.
- See more than you can. It works inside your Security Role and your active add-ons.
- Run scheduled tasks on the included plan. That needs Pro.
- Run a task back to back. Scheduled runs have to be at least two hours apart.
- Work on old pay-as-you-go accounts. You have to move to a current capped plan, and ServiceM8 says that switch can’t be reversed.
Where do you use Office Agent?
| Place | How to open it |
|---|---|
| Online Dashboard | Click the question-mark Help icon, then Office Agent. With a job card open, you can say “this job.” |
| Phone app | Open a job, tap More (the three dots) in the Job Actions bar, then Chat. You talk to it by voice. |
| On a schedule | Set up a task and it runs at the time you pick. |
Online chats are private to the person who had them.
How much does Office Agent cost?
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Office Agent Standard | Included on Starter, Growing, Premium and Premium Plus | Chat in the app and the Online Dashboard, with a daily usage limit |
| Office Agent Pro | US$39 a month, added to your ServiceM8 bill | More daily usage, plus Scheduled Tasks |
The daily limit is shared across the whole account. It resets at midnight in your account’s time zone. Hit the limit and new runs pause until the reset. There are no overage charges. ServiceM8 does not publish the limit as a number of messages. For the full monthly bill with Pro added, see what ServiceM8 costs a 5-person crew.
Pro starts right away and the first charge is prorated. Cancel and the unused time becomes account credit, not a card refund. If Apple bills your ServiceM8 plan, you have to switch to direct billing before you can add Pro.
How do I turn on Office Agent?
- Activate ServiceM8 Launch 2026 and Office Agent on the account.
- Give each person the “Enable access to Office Agent” permission in their Security Role.
- Open it from the Help icon and ask one clear thing, like “sum up this job.”
How do Office Agent scheduled tasks work?
You need Pro and the Business Owner role.
- Open Office Agent from Home or the Account menu and click New Task.
- Pick a template from the Task Library, or choose Create Custom Task.
- Name it, write the schedule in plain English (“Every weekday at 8:30 AM”), and write the instructions.
- Choose who gets notified.
- Open the Tools tab and turn off every action the task does not need.
- Click Create. New tasks start switched off. Turn it on when you are ready.
If a suggestion is wrong, click Decline and say why. Office Agent saves that to the task’s memory and uses it on later runs.
Office Agent tasks are not staff tasks. To put an errand on a tech’s list, see how to schedule staff tasks in ServiceM8 without a job.
What should a contractor set up before anything else?
Start with one report-only task. Have it check Action Required every weekday morning and tell you what it found. Turn off the messaging, booking, queue and status tools for that task. Watch it for a week. Then let it draft quote follow-ups. A scheduled task can also watch Completed jobs for overdue invoices.
Office Agent lives inside ServiceM8. If you would sooner ask ChatGPT or Claude about your jobs, ServiceM8 connects to both. For fixed rules that run with nobody approving, use ServiceM8’s n8n node.
